[One year. She's been in Luceti for one whole year, and not even an Auldrant year at that. So much had happened, that it was kind of hard to believe that it had only been such a short period of time.]

[Anise doesn't know if this occasion is really something to "celebrate", but hey, no point in letting the day go by without an announcement! So she props open the journal, putting on her best grin.]

Hey everyone! ♥ Cute Anise has officially been in Luceti for one whole year! So if you've got any presents, then you should hand them riiiight over! ♥

[Oh yeah, she had told Tear she would look into something...]

Anyway, how many of you here have pets? What are they and how do you take care of them? I've been thinking about getting a dog, but I'm always open for other other ideas! The house is just way too big and empty lately, especially when there aren't any presents around...

Yep. I've been keeping track! It's kinda hard to believe, huh? It feels like it's been ages.

Time certainly flies... but what's this I hear about presents? [With a soft chuckle. Anisu, u so silly.]

[By which she is most certainly not trying to guilt-trip him into giving her stuff.]

If you say so... but hypothetically speaking, what sort of present would you want?

[It's like he's not even trying to avoid being obvious here.]

[Aww, is he really going to? She doesn't want to make this hard for him.]

[...]

[That last word came out rather squeaky. Clearing his throat, trying that again.]

...that you would like?

Hmm, something pretty would be nice! But anything is fine, really.

I see... [Something pretty-]

[Well, there's always...? He never did get the chance to give it to her before, right? Hmm...]

Ah, sorry to change the subject, but are you at home right now, Anise? It's better to talk in person than over the journals, don't you think?

Yep! I'm in my room!

[Well then! Without another word, he hurries up from his desk and goes to his dresser, quickly fishing out a certain box he knows was still there. He pauses only a second to look down at it, as though reconsidering whether or not this was a good idea...]

[But he's not about to keep Anise waiting and let her think he just hang-up on her for no reason! And so, he pockets the box and makes his way to Anise's room.]

[Knock knock!] Anise?

[The door opens at once. Anise had been waiting right beside it as soon as Ion had hung up.]

Hi Ion!

Hello Anise, may I come in?

[He's totally coming in anyway but it would be rude not to ask. He is also totally not obviously holding something in his pocket -- it's just her imagination!]

Of course!

[Waoooh her imagination sure must be vivid today! That or the (nice) greenkids just suck at hiding gifts.]

Want to sit down?

[Sync would totally be bad at hiding gifts too. You know, if he ever gave gifts. But he wouldn't because he's the Grinch.]

Actually, there's something I'd like to give you first... [He walks past her into her room before turning on his heel and pulling out the box. It's fairly small and rectangular, but has already been rather nicely wrapped.]

Happy one-year-in-Luceti anniversary, Anise.

[And if she opens the lid of the box, she'll find a pink and gold heart-shaped necklace inside. Now, of course, Ion has no idea just how nice this gift is -- it's certainly very pretty and for a place like Luceti, that's all that really matters -- but in truth the necklace just so happens to have two very real diamonds sitting on a very real gold chain!]

[...but should she look past the necklace for whatever reason, she may see a small card tucked in the box beside it that, in retrospect, Ion should have removed. It very clearly says "Merry Christmas, Anise". There's a reason he just so happened to have this gift on hand, after all.]

[Eeee! A box this size is perfect for jewellery, isn't it? Anise carefully takes off the wrapping paper, trying to damage it as little as possible.]

[Oh...huh. That design is just a liiiiiittle tacky, isn't it ~~and she isn't sure what to think of the heart~~? But she loves it all the same, especially when the diamonds catches her eye.]

Whoa! Ion, where did you find this?

In the Item Shop. Usually it's just normal things that show up, but every so often things like this find their way in as well.

I've actually had it for awhile, but I was... just waiting for an occasion when I could give it to you.

[LIES well, okay, only a half-lie. He really as waiting for an occasion to come up after things became less awkward between them.]

[She looks back up at Ion, smiling.]

Thank you so much, Ion! This is really pretty.

[And she thinks that she'll keep it no matter what, despite its monetary value.]
