[She'd been meaning to come by sooner, but... after helping that cat-that-was-not a cat back home here... well, she wanted to make sure that he was all right. If maybe they were back to normal, even. She stops in front of the door, looking a little left and right, hoping that... well this wasn't about to get awkward or anything. Maybe she should have stayed back and made sure the not-kitten had gotten in okay before leaving...

Oh well. Nothing for it now. She raises a hand and knocks on the door a few times, quickly. As if she's nervous and can't get them out fast enough.]

Hang on! I'm coming! [There's a quick patter of footsteps and the door is thrown open to reveal Anise, with a slightly puzzled expression on her face.]

[So imagine Lindsay's surprise when she sees Anise there. Didn't she- ... oh. Oh. She had... no idea she lived here. ... well, uh... this was going to be awkward.]

Um... you remember the... the experiment a couple weeks ago? The one where we all did fairy tales, and things like that?

[Since... that's what those were supposed to be, right?]

[Anise tilts her head slightly, thinking for a moment.] Oh, right! You were the crocodile girl!

[She looks at Lindsay doubtfully for a moment. That crocodile was weird. Then and again, the whole of Luceti had been a bit insane that week. Lindsay was far from the worst.]

[Oh man of all the things to have met each other over... Nothing to really be done for it, now, but... Still awkward. So, so awkward.

Uh... the other week... I found a kitten, only it really wasn't a kitten, because it was someone who'd just gotten back and... [Yeah she's rambling. CUT TO THE CHASE GIRL.] A-anyway. I helped him back here, and... I just wanted to make sure they were okay.

[Some short time after Anise departs for the library, Nephry leaves house one as well. Is it coincidence that they end up in the same place? Nephry does like to read.

And when something happens in that house? She usually knows about it before too long.

There is surprise on her face when she encounters Anise there, though, and she keeps her voice at an appropriate library level.]

[Anise jumps a bit when she hears the voice. She keeps her back turned against Nephry and pretends to busy herself with studying the books on that shelf.]

Hi, Nephry! I wasn't expecting to see you here!

[She tries to sound cheerful, but her heart isn't in it.]

I'm sorry if I startled you. [She saw that jump, and everything] I'll stay out of your way.

[And she will head for a different, but nearby, shelf]

No! [She flinches at how loud her voice sounded, feeling worse than ever. What did Nephry mean by that? Did Ion tell her what had happened and made Nephry upset at her too? Anise fidgets uncomfortably, darting nervous sideways glances at Nephry every so often, then averting her eyes just as quickly.]

[Goodness, Anise, this is a library. Nephry glances up at the half-shout, smiling but also looking worried.]

[Written] Letter for Hydra Social, prrrrobably July 13th

[Following all that happened in Luceti with a draft, an attack, and losing another friend, Beast finally manages to get together with Usagi and have her help him with his letter to Anise. He has never been the first to write before, but Usagi's guidance gives him a good idea on what to say, even if the words and spelling still aren't perfect.]

Hello, Anise,

I gess we are pen pals now... so I am writing you a letter. I do not know if you want one, but [Oswald will bother him if he doesn't write one.] here it is... none-the-less.

I... am Beast. The... name soots, I gess. I... am a... beast. But I'm not an animal.

So I... gess you used to have an other pen pal, too. Who What were they... like? Mine was Usagi - she is very... nice.

I... gess that's all. Write back soon.

Beast [No drawing like he did before. He could tell that wasn't done well.]

[Oh yeah, she had signed up for the penpal thing, right? Anise had almost forgotten with all the chaos of the last month.]

[And her penpal sounds kinda weird. "Beast"...What kind of name is that? And what's with some of those spellings?]

[Oh well, writing back will let her get her mind off of things.]

You're a beast? Wow! That's pretty weird! I'm just a cute, normal girl.

My first pen pal was this guy called Yuan! He was kinda rude and no fun at all. But you'll be nice to poor old me, won't you?

[Written] That's okay, I've been pretty slow myself lately

[He... did not expect to get a letter back that's so short. Usagi's letters were usually long and talked about a lot of things. But... he guesses that will make it easier to write back.

"Love" Anise? He maybe would have thought she meant "love" in another way, but she even put a heart next to her name. But they've just met! What does this mean? She can't possibly feel that way about him when she doesn't even know him. Maybe... maybe he'll just not say anything about it. Yes, that... that sounds good.]

[Sigh. He wishes he doesn't have to confirm this.] Yes, I am... a beast. [...] It is good that you are normal.

I... will not be rude and I will be nice. I will try to be "fun". Why was Yuan rude? [What a strange name, Yuan. How do you even say that?

November 24 | Action

[A new experiment had started and Anise still wasn't back. Ion had taken to wandering around the village lately, which wasn't all that unpleasant when there were so many interesting locales to look at. He wasn't exactly interested in the malnosso's offer, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to try and enjoy things while he could.]

[Right now, he's wandering around the south-east end of the village, appropriately dressed for the area. It wasn't at all like November outside, and he was enjoying a nice break from the cold... though he was still shivering just a bit. He's still Ion, after all.]

[The mission she had chosen to go on had been occasionally challenging, but mostly fun, and she had enjoyed the chance to take out her frustration on enemies in the battle simulation facilities. But the longer she stayed away, the more she was reluctant to return, but there's only so long she could avoid returning. Besides, it's lonely without her friends around.]

[But her arrival back at the village had given her a face full of surprise, to say the least. Nothing looked familiar any more. Is this really Luceti? But the Malnosso had no reason to trick her, right?]

[And before Anise takes one step, she finds that her clothes suddenly feel a lot more restrictive. She looks down to find that her normal clothes have suddenly been replaced with this.]

[Which, of course, means that a shout of surprise is in order.]

What?! Hey, who did that?

[Oh. That wasn't a voice Ion was expecting to hear. He wasn't expecting it so much, in fact, that he turns around quickly and calls out to her almost on instinct.]

Anise?

[Perhaps its just because he hasn't seen her in so long, but right now? Seeing Anise is a welcome sight. He's smiling and everything!]

[Wait. That's Ion? What's up with those clothes? Not that they don't look good on him, but - ]

[........................Well this is kind of awkward. Okay, chill out, just act like nothing had happened...! It's not like they're ever going to agree on that issue so they may as well pretend it never happened.]

[Anise puts on her best smile.]

Yep! I'm back, safe and sound! It was pretty fun!
